I will not be blogging for several weeks and thought I would give you the heads up as to why.
To make a long story short… for the past few years I thought I was lactose intolerant. Anytime I drank milk my stomach would hurt so I just took myself off all dairy and didn’t have anymore issues. Well in April the Dr. and I thought I had acid reflux… took Nexium and all was better.
- Sunday I had some terrible stomach pains that lasted all night but went away.
- Tuesday evening BAM I was hit with some stomach and back pain that would not let up so I went to the ER and found out I had gallstones and a very unhappy gallbladder.
- Wednesday I was in a hospital room being pumped full of antibiotics and pain medication.
- Thursday had surgery to remove my gallbladder and let me just say it is instant relief as soon as that thing is gone. The worst day after surgery is still a better day than having a gallbladder attack.
So if any of you have these very same symptoms… get that gallbladder checked out. This just might be your issue. Life without a gallbladder is GRAND!
Hugs to you all.

@ItsInTheDetails Glad You are feeling better. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Oh Lisa! I’m so glad you you found out what it was. I had a similar episode a few years back. It got so bad one of the gallstones got out and wedged it’s way into my esophagus. I had two emergency surgeries in one day. For some reason, it’s so difficult to diagnose. Doctors seem to want to pump you with meds before doing any testing.
The only other advice I can give is that you will still have to watch what you eat. Without a gallbladder there is no “referee” telling your body to stop.
Take care!
Oh my goodness. I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that. I hope that you are feeling much better now!
I’ll miss your brilliant and creative posts, but you get better! We’ll be here when you get back!! HUGS!
Lisa,
I sometimes wonder if that isn’t my problem as I’ve had several episodes like yours and the dairy makes it act up sometimes and not others. Oh, that our bodies were made of glass that we could see just what ails us.
They will have to lay off at least one person in the Glitter Factory while you’re down! Ha! We’ll just be glad when you’re back up and running at 100% again.
Get well,
Your Friend in ART,
Linda

Lisa, take care and a speedy recovery. I felt like my life was back after something similar happened to me. I was pretty much down to oatmeal before they finally figured it out. The past 5 years have been heaven in the eating dept :)
Lisa,
Times like these, we realize that the human vocabulary is so limited; fortunately, our capacity for new possibilities is much less so. I’m praying that you will have happy and peaceful days ahead.
Thinking of you Lisa. So sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well. Hope you recover very quickly.

I had my gallbladder taken out three years ago and I can’t tell you what a relief it was. The pain that thing caused was unbearable! I was misdiagnosed as having ulcers. Crazy time! Get well soon!
