I will post to a private blog, one class project on the 15th of each month for three months starting August 15th and ending October 15th. You will continue to have access to the private blog until November 1st. Each month’s vintage themed project will include a complete supply list, full color images, step by step instructions, tips, notes and suggestions. Altered Vellum Buttons Part 2…

Jul 27, 2009

So last week as I was cleaning up my workstation I tossed the vellum accented buttons I made onto a pile of old book pages. Well I looked down and noticed the text coming through the vellum and had an instant Ah HA moment I just have to share. Look at how cool these buttons are when you add an old book page to the back of the vellum! I just love the layered look so much. All you do is after you have completed altering a clear button with vellum, cover the back of the vellum with Glossy Accents, place the button glossy side down onto the book page, press the button down firmly with your fingers to remove any air bubbles, poke the button holes with a paper piercer and let it...

Mixed Scallop Banner Album…

Jul 24, 2009

Here is the new Maya Road Mixed Scallop Banner Album. This album comes with four scallop pages, four plain pages and 2 rings. I really like that you can stack the plain pages on top of the scallop pages creating a four page banner as I did below. I like the dimension you get with the pages stacked. You can also alternate between the scallop and plain pages creating an eight page banner. Lots of possibilities with this new little gem. Oh I had a little Ah Ha moment yesterday while I was tossing these clear buttons around on my workspace. I can’t wait to show you next week. I do believe you are gonna like it a lot! Although if you do a little investigating online you might be able to see what...

Happy July 4th everyone…

Jul 4, 2009

My daughter Terri and her fiance Laren are certainly starting the 4th off with a bang… and this is the reason why…. Terri and Laren are now the proud parents of a seven week old English Bulldog puppy named Lola. And let me just say Lola has everyone hopping. It seems all she wants to do is sleep in your arms and if not she lets you know it with a very loud cry. I received a phone call this morning at 3 a.m. from Terri letting me know how perfect and smart Lola is about going potty outside. Oh and FYI… Terri lives on the 4th floor. So she will be getting her exercise going up and down those stairs. Anyway, as I was talking to Terri I could hear Lola crying in...

Yesterday my niece Amanda arrived. I picked her up from the airport at 10 a.m and we did not stop until 10 p.m. She will be going to college in the fall so the  first stop was IKEA… lots of great fun there. Then she wanted to hit Marshalls as this girl can never have too many shoes. Then we ate lunch and headed over to Target. Once we finished there we came home and made this…. well it was more like Amanda not me… I just grabbed stuff for her to use. I think she created the cutest doll. Now to find a little glass plate for her to sit on. I have been wanting to make one of these dolls since I saw them online here… actually, I still want to make...
