Happy National Scrapbook Day…

May 2, 2009

Today I finally get to debut my “Vintage Sampler”. This is the first of many free online workshops I plan to share. For those of you who do not know about this workshop you can check it out here.

Here is a little snippet of my thoughts behind the creation of this project. I wanted to create a project that incorporated items that reminded me of home as well as the strong family bond most of us share. I decided a vintage sampler would be the perfect project to accomplish this task. The letter “P” symbolizes my family name, the milk cap symbolizes how we as families nourish each other, the buttons and pearls symbolize how we mend each others spirits during difficult times, the vintage flocked flowers symbolize how families help each other grow and become the best they can be and most importantly the glittered heart symbolizes how we as families love each other unconditionally. I closely incorporated all the elements inside the frame as I feel nothing can tear apart a strong family bond.
