My Little Book of Thoughts…

May12

I am not much of a journal keeper but I love having something small to jot down a thought or two or make a note so I don’t forget a moment of inspiration or a nice quote. I think it is nice to have a little something to keep my thoughts noted in that I can carry along. So this is what I decided to create using the Book Page Flower from last weeks tutorials. My very own “Little Book of Thoughts”.  And I guess you can tell I am really into gold and black paint with crackling medium. Just love the look so much.

Altered Journal with Book Page Flower

Supplies Needed:
Small Journal (approx. 3″ x 4″)
Adirondack Metallics Acrylic Paints (Gold)
DecoArt Crackling Medium (Weathered Wood)
Making Memories Acrylic Paint (Asphalt)
Book Page Flower
ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink (Creamy Brown)

Tools Needed:
Paint Brush

Instructions:

  • Paint the front, back and spine of a small journal with Gold Adironadack Metallics Acrylic Paint, let dry
  • Using a paint brush apply Crackling Medium over the entire front and spine of the small journal, let dry
  • Once the Crackling Medium is dry using a paint brush apply Crackling Medium over the entire back or the small journal, let dry
  • Once the back of the small journal is dry, using a paint brush apply Making Memories Asphalt Acrylic Paint to the front and spine area of the small journal, let dry
  • Using a paint brush apply Making Memories Asphalt Acrylic Paint to the back of the small journal, let dry
  • Using a strong liquid adhesive or glue gun attach the Book Page Flower to the front of your small journal
  • Type or print your sentiment onto paper, cut out, ink the edges using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink (Creamy Brown), attach to the front of your small journal
