I figured I should show you all how I decided to use the Sewing Pattern Flower I created last week. This simple photo holder will soon be sitting on a shelf in Terri’s apartment holding a photo of her and Laren.
Supplies Needed:
Jumbo Clothespin 6″ (The Tree House Studio)
Adirondack Metallics Arylic Paint Dabber in Gold
DecoArt Crackling Medium (Weathered Wood)
Making Memories Acrylic Paint (Asphalt)
Sewing Pattern Flower
Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi Funky Flower Art Leaf Stamp
Cream Felt
Embroidery Floss (DMC 543)
ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink (Creamy Brown)
Tools Needed:
Paint Brush
Sewing Needle
Strong Adhesive or Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
Instructions:
- Paint the jumbo clothespin front and back using a Gold Adirondack Metallics Arylic Paint Dabber, let dry
- Once the paint is dry using a paintbrush cover the gold paint with DecoArt Crackling Medium in Weathered Wood, let dry
- Once the Crackling Medium is dry using a paintbrush, paint over the crackling medium on the front and back as well as the sides and inside of the clothespin with Black Acrylic Paint, let dry
- Attach your Sewing Pattern Flower and embroidered felt leaf to your altered clothespin using a strong adhesive or hot glue gun
- Type or print your sentiment, cut out the words, ink edges using ColorBox Fluild Chalk Ink (Creamy Brown), attach to Jumbo Clothes Pin
- Clip a photo into the top portion of your altered clothespin

This is fabulous Lisa, a great idea, Now all I have to do is try to find the large peg in Australia :-) Thanks for sharing.
what a beautful photo clip! I am inspired to make one! Thank you for sharing.
Wow, the flower tutorials have been awesome – I’ve bookmarked ‘em and will try some out – TFS!

You make that felt look like a very expensive material. Your stitching is PERFECT!!

love what you are doing, and I think I have that purse in the background, mine’s full of bead trim-what’s in yours?????
What a beautiful project! And timely, too… I just bought 5 of those clothespins, from A.C.Moore’s dollar bin, wanting to make photo holders. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to decorate them, though, and this will be PERFECT! Thanks so much for all the continued inspiration, Lisa!
