Thrown a Curve Ball…

Apr 28, 2009

Yesterday certainly was one of those kinda days. Mother Nature is something you don’t want to mess with and yesterday she really hit Ft. Worth with severe thunderstorms packed full of lightening… my daughter Terri’s super adorable apartment is now declared unlivable. Star-Telegram article My thoughts and prayers go out to the two firefighters that were injured. I hope they are doing okay and I thank them for their efforts. I will be away for a few days trying to help Terri salvage sentimental items. And just so you know the National Scrapbook Day Workshop is still a go. I have the private member area already set up and scheduled to start as planned May 2nd. I hope those of you that take the workshop have lots of...

Apr 26, 2009

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had lots of fun yesterday chatting with everyone during Cocoa Daisy’s Spring Crop. That message board was hopping. If you are interested you can sign up for it here. I have the supply list posted so you can have everything ready to create Saturday. As always all my workshop and blog projects are for personal use only. Please do not teach these in your store, as classes or recreate them to sell in your...

I love great mail days…

Apr 24, 2009

I received some great patterned papers the other day. I love the Little Guy line by Melissa Frances. I think it is going to work perfectly for my upcoming summer workshop. And the French Twist White and Cream Pearls are fabulous! If you have never ordered from Scrap-Diner you are missing out on some great customer service. Sherine always gets her orders out fast and her shipping is excellent. Plus she always includes a little sweet thank you like...

Happy Birthday Sweet Pea…

Apr 23, 2009

We are celebrating a big birthday today. Terri turns 21 years old. I first saw this altered cupcake box on Ranjini’s blog many many months ago. She found the cupcake box at Tuesday Morning. I immediately ran to ours to see if they had some and I got lucky. They had two left which I immediately grabbed as I knew I would be using them as money holders for Terri’s 21st and Ansley’s Sweet 16 next year. The box is quite plain but has such potential for altering. The candle is held on by a magnet although I attached mine to the top permanently. Below is what it looks like before a little vintage sheet music, book page flowers, pearls, lace and glitter have been added. Enjoy your day Terri. We love you...

100 completed…

Apr 10, 2009

I did it! I started my first book project May 2, 2008 and finished the 100th today. Still can’t believe it and have counted the total number of projects 3 times and each time it comes out to be 100!!! I can say I am pretty  much finished with my book. I just have a few captions to write which is nothing after this huge creative undertaking. I love the direction the designer is going with my book… it will be so me and I am so THRILLED I can hardly stand it. I wont see the cover until sometime in July but you can bet I will show everyone the second I can. Here are a few things I learned over the past year in no particular order. 100 projects is A LOT...

Fun little game…

Apr 3, 2009

So I just finished my 90th project for my book. This means I only have 10 more projects left to finish. I thought it would be fun to give a Maya Road RAK to the person that comes closest to the date (without going over) of when I will complete my 100th book project. All you have to do is leave a comment with the date and the person closest will win the RAK…. if two people guess the same date Ansley will pick the lucky winner. Oh just so you know my final deadline is May 5th. So don’t guess after this date. We are to the half way point in my Hippity Hop Easter Workshop. The last day for this workshop is April 18th. If you want to join in and create...
