Fall is in the air…

Oct 26, 2008

Finally it feels a bit like fall here in Texas. Actually almost had frost on the pumpkins a few mornings ago. Which just so happens to be the inspiration behind this card. Yesterday, I had so much fun playing with some new stamp sets. They are by Pink Persimmon. My three favorite stamp sets are the “Little Red Wagon“, “Banner” Small and Large and “Carnival Alpha” Small and Large too cute for words… so go take a look. Adorable I tell ya. I created this card using lots of my favorite product lines… Melissa Frances (How can you not love Melissa Frances?) Maya Road… no brainer there, Martha Stewart Glitter and Ranger Stickles. Also… here is a little sneak peak of a tutorial that will be available for download November 1st. I absolutely love...

A little wake up call…

Oct 24, 2008

for my dear hubby Alan since he wouldn’t get out of bed this morning… after all it was 11:30. Every time I see this I laugh so hard I cry. It’s only a few seconds but so worth every tear I shed from laughter. Once Sonny our Golden Retriever saw him move he tackled him…. Alan was up for sure then. I know this is a little form of sick humor… I’m gonna blame it on all the book projects I have been working on lately. I have 30 completed. But honestly, my sister and I laugh so hard we can hardly breath. Have a great...

Ask the Masters…

Oct 21, 2008

Organizing Your Scrapbook Supplies is out. I have read this book from cover to cover and plan on using lots of ideas that past and present Memory Makers Masters shared. Right now, I have serious organization issues in my scraproom. Here are a few of the layouts I created for this book project. I’m sure you will recognize the Jolly Old Fellow featured below. Today I hit my 30 projects completed and I must say not being able to share is killing me. This process has really stretched me creatively and I’m thrilled. Tomorrow I will be in the 60’s. It might only be 69 more projects to go but it is STILL in the 60’s. Oh it makes me so happy. I can feel 50 coming on...

Memory Makers…

Oct 16, 2008

Here is the last layout I did during my Memory Makers Masters term. It is in their current Nov. Dec. issue. I love these papers by Making Memories and the photos well, they are two of my favorites. But thanks to my sister I need to take another group photo because we need to include Isabella Kate. Now about the other big thing that is keeping me pretty busy and is one of the reasons my blog lacks new stuff off and on… my book. I am so happy with all the things I have created, which is a big thing for me because usually I can always find something I don’t like about everything I’ve made…. I just have 73 more projects to go. Hopefully after today it will be 72 and by...

What a fun weekend…

Oct 13, 2008

This weekend I stayed in Waxahachie with some of the Maya Road girls… Caroline, Jessica, Aubrey and Wendy. I gotta tell you, Wendy taught some of the most inspiring classes all day Saturday and all day Sunday at the Crafty Scrapper. If you ever see that Wendy Vecchi is coming to a store near you I say run and sign up as fast as you can. You do NOT want to miss any of her classes. Wendy is the first person I have ever taken a class from and I want more. She taught me so many great techniques that I plan on carrying over into future projects. Thanks Wendy for all the inspiration. This little album is one I created in Wendy’s Fragments class. Wendy has you bring scraps of paper, rubons and...

Auction for a friend…

Oct 8, 2008

UPDATE… The auction should now work in Internet Explorer. Please let me know if you have any trouble. I write this post with a very heavy heart. Yesterday, a very dear friend of mine in the scrapbooking community unexpectedly lost her husband. Honestly, when I think of her and her two young boys (ages 4 and 7) as hard as I try to hold back my tears they just seem to come anyway. One minute her simple world is perfect then the next… tragic. I feel so helpless and wish I was closer to help but geographically this is not possible. So I have decided to hold an auction to raise a bit of money to help ease the financial burden that has occurred. I am giving 100% of the money raised from my...

And they’re off to the game…

Oct 3, 2008

Okay… this post is for the grandparents. I think Taylor and Ansley look so dang cute together. And from what I understand so does their English teacher and their classmates. There seemed to be a lot of talking and photos taken of them during school. Personally, I think they look like Mr. and Miss All American. And just so you know… Ansley could not be going to the game with anyone sweeter or more polite. You all would certainly approve of...

Homecoming in Texas…

Oct 3, 2008

WARNING… very, very, very long post about 2.5 days in my life. Centennial High School has their homecoming game tonight. If you live in Texas you know all about the MUMS! Those of you that do not, well… girls and boys wear them… girls have these big honkin things pined to their shirts that hang almost to their ankles and boys wear a smaller version around their arms attached to a garter. Well Ansley and her boyfriend Taylor aren’t going to the dance (decided to just hang out instead) so I wasn’t really sure how all this mum stuff worked. So I asked Ansley last week to please find out for me ASAP as I needed to know the garter etiquette. Well she found out for me all right… TUESDAY night at 11! I...

Monsieur Hiver…

Oct 1, 2008

My snowman decoration is now known as “Monsieur Hiver” a.k.a. Mr. Winter. I loved JulieG’s comment/name suggestion: Ooooohhhhhh….how yummy is he! For some reason I get a very sophisticated vibe from him so I am going with “Monsieur Hiver” (Mr. Winter in French). So Julie please email me your address and I will get your winter RAK in the mail. And since so many people replied I picked comment number 10 since today is the first day of Oct. so Erika M who also felt he had a sophisticated feel please email me your address and I will send a winter RAK to you...
